how to let it rain

you are the next sunrise
when dawn came for me
i sat with my feet up
feeling the breeze
a wind of change has turned
direction to random
to rearrange the dust
the settlement accumulated
in fine quantities
to obscure and hide the haven

the new dawn revealed
it prompted the salt
in the air to cling extra long
urged the corrosion to pit
it self against
the angry clouds reached
with its unseen and feeling arms
with all its might to shield
the new rays from reaching
where i had my feet up

to stop such a force
would be foolish
like children in play
in innocence and learning
i do not have the will
to close the doors have opened
to stop the flood from coming
to end the rain
from loving me
for i am engulfed
in your sunset
